When I was 7 years old, my sister asked me, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I answered, “a talk show host like Jerry Springer or Jenny Jones.” From that point on, not once did I change my mind. I ended up graduating with a BA in Radio/TV Broadcasting at San Francisco State University.
At the age of 17, I got a job at BiteSize TV (formerly Mevio.com) as a web-show host. I gradually started writing, producing and directing shows that I created (Music Video Reform School and Celebrity Crush) as well as interviewing bands and artists— can you imagine how I felt going backstage at my favorite shows at that age!? I was on cloud 9!
In the midst of going to school and working, I also started an internship at a radio station I listened to growing up–KMVQ 99.7 NOW! I got to work with Fernando and Greg who were my favorite Morning Show hosts since I was a kid. After my internship was over, they offered me a job as the Morning Show’s Assistant Producer. I did a lost of behind the scenes work and even had my own interns, but the coolest part was that I got my own on-air segments (Whatchu Doin at the Courthouse? and Jackie Hollywood’s Weekend Hit List). I also did voice overs for CBS Radio including Live 105 and Alice 97.3, which was easily my favorite part of the job.
Between BiteSize TV and 99.7 NOW!, I felt like my career was on the right track. But two years later I decided it was time for a big change… and that’s when I quit everything and moved to LA! Now I’m living the dream and going for the gold!
With all my resources here in LA, I was able to create, host and produce my own show called WildFire TV, where I interview celebrities and do fun activities with them. This is what I was born to do and I’m so thankful I have the opportunity to do what I love! Follow your dreams and never give up— that’s when you’ll truly be happy.
